Preparing for a trip to Haiti tomorrow, just recently received my BRCK and was testing it out today. I'm having similar issues to what's described here, but also potentially new ones as well (I'm new to the forum, so I might have missed something).
When powered off, and plugged into a variety of different chargers with different cables (I appear to have the new cable, but I've tried others as well), the inside light pulses blue. indicating that it's charging and close to 100%, as I understand it. However, even after being plugged in for several hours, it refuses to boot up unless it's connected to power.
When I do have it plugged in, and turn on the device, dashboard initially reads 100% charge in the battery, and the inside light is solid blue. However, over the course of a few minutes, the dashboard shows a dramatic drop in charge, the inside light begins pulsing, and the color changes to green, then to yellow, and then to red. After several hours of being plugged in, and continuing to pulse, it has not gained any charge. Over the last 2 hours, I've had it plugged into Anker Astro E4 external battery, which charges at 5V/3A. The Anker has indicator lights that indicate the level of charge it holds. I had charged the battery to just past 75%; once the battery drops below 75% one of the 4 indicator lights should go dark. So far, I've seen no change. The dashboard continues to indicate that the BRCK is not charging at all.
Additionally, I've tried charging the BRCK with the Anker battery while the BRCK is powered off. The Anker's indicator lights stay on while it discharges. When the BRCK is powered off, the Anker's indicator lights do not come on, which indicates that charging is not taking place.
The BRCK also seems to cycle on and off every couple minutes or so, which could be related to the low power state. It ceases transmitting the wi-fi signal. I have it plugged into my router with ethernet, and while viewing the device's dashboard through router's wi-fi signal, the BRCK goes offline every couple minutes, even though I never lose connection through wi-fi.
Additionally, the outside light appears to be flickering red, not purple; it seems to match the red of the inside light.
